Being that I absolutely hate trying to fill such little message boxes out, I'm just going to ramble like a fool and let what happens to fall from my fingers appear here on this page. Besides, I do best when I unhook my mind from trying to compose a perfect piece and just let what will be be. That said, I find myself with a temporary writers block. ...only way around that is to keep typing...eyes closed, and again, let what appears appear. Lucky for me I don't tend to make mistakes very often when I type...
I'm a fool of a different flavor. I'm not joe-macho pretense...I don't care about who has the shininess toys...I really couldn't give a damn about what others think of me either...I long ago gave up trying to fit in with the rest of the world, boring and dull as they are (oh, I'm boring and dull too but at least I'm boring and dull in my own special and somewhat foolish way).
Forgive me, but what I post next I think describes me though it was written long, long ago by the Sufi poet Omar Khayyam.
"If I am drunk of forbidden wine, so I am.
If I am a pagan, an idolater, an unbeliever, so I am.
Every sect has its own suspicions of me.
I myself am just what I am."
Um, I'm kind of an open minded individual...and that is what I'm looking for...someone who will accept me for my failings, for my shortcomings and who will accept those few areas where I shine brighter than those around me. I am not interested in joining anyone's church or religious organization (my skin tends to smolder when I enter most of those buildings) nor am I one who fits into any dogmatic order of the universe. Therefor, I would prefer to meet, and I know I'm really going out on a limb here, but someone who is open-minded. That's pretty much it.
Oh, I'm a fool for quiet times and moments spent listening to her heart beat and her breathing...there is no music more beautiful than the orchestra of the heart (crap, that sounded so damn corny...too bad I'm not editing this at all or otherwise I'd go in and change that...but such is the curse of stream-of-consciousness typing, eh?)
As for who I am and where I live, well, I live in the deepest, darkest forests in the mountains just south of Prescott in an old ghost town called Walker (actually, I live at the even smaller ghost town called Howells but nobody remembers that place...not even the memories of ghosts recall it). Not much to do out here...really and truly. Oh, I take hikes quite often when I'm not in town working...got lots of acreage to wander on...though I will admit to an affinity to walking in the moonlight (um, we do have mountain lions up here and yes, I take midnight walks through the woods...anything to meet a "cougar", no?)
I'm a bit of an artist. Oh, not the pretentious twit type, just a kid who grew up "seeing" my world and representing it in as many media as I could...and I'm not bad either. I've a strong background in words (um, I'm a bit of a poet...and not a ramblin' monologuer either but a classical stylist) but lately my mind has returned once again to the visual world, back to my roots of photography.
I like to keep my mind active. I usually have 2-4 books being read at a time covering multiple areas. Not big into TV and open for the most part musically though I have an affinity for RUSH...kinda the soundtrack of my existence.
I am also an organ donor...one of the most wonderful things I've ever experienced! Gave a kidney to a friend of 30 years in '04. I'm a strong advocate for organ/tissue donation and really, it is a beautiful experience...besides, I got me a cool little scar to brag about...I call it my "C-section" 'cause of where it is and a little saying of mine is "If you got a pair, share."
Another thing, a small bit of honesty. I took a hit when the economy collapsed. I work and work hard both at a work-a-day job as well as on private ventures but I'm not back where I was yet. I feel it is better to be honest here than pretend that I'm something I'm not. What I am not is wealthy. What I am is hard-working and honest.
Well, hope you enjoyed my nonsense.
Oh yeah...this thing has my age wrong and I haven't figured out how to change it yet. I'm 43 in people years.
